Ever since the car accident in February of 2021, Woods has never played an official tournament. He had played in the 2021 PNC Championship with his son, Charlie, and won second place. However, the golf world wants to see him make a comeback, and they would love it if he does it in the upcoming Masters.
That is why even a small update about his health and possible comeback makes such a stir in the golf world.
A crucial week for Tiger Woods to determine his comeback!
According to Todd Lewis, the reporter for Golf Channel, this week would be crucial for Woods.
This is a critical week for @tigerwoods to see if his body can sustain 72 holes at Augusta National. He will exhaust every effort to play @TheMasters.

The accident of 2021 had injured Woods’ leg badly. Although he showed up with his son at the PNC Championship in December, the golfer didn’t look healthy at all. Even the golf legend admitted that he is not in a position to play at an official tournament with young pro golfers. “It’s going to take a lot of work,” he added.

He also explained that he would think about which events and golf courses would suit him better and only play such events. Furthermore, a close source revealed that Woods has been training hard and rarely feels pain in his leg anymore. The source also disclosed that he is practicing hard to make a comeback soon.
Since Woods has yet to make a statement regarding whether he would make a return at the Masters, the golf world is under heated discussion about the topic. And the recent tweet from the reporter, too, has got their attention.
Fans’ reaction to the tweet
Since it is not confirmed whether Woods would play or not, the fans had different opinions about the news.
Let’s go Tiger ! “Train hard, fight easy”

Since he had difficulty walking at the 36-hole event PNC Championship, many fans argued that Woods would play at the Augusta.
Unfortunately, he probably only really needs to be able to play 36. He hasn’t played a tournament in a year and a half and his body got destroyed in the interim!
— John Ziegler (@Zigmanfreud) March 28, 2022
He’s hardly gonna go into the week saying I’ll only need to play 36 so if I can do that I’ll be fine… we are talking about a 15 time major winner, the all time greatest golfer. That really is not going to be his mindset.

Anyone responding to this with “36 holes” must really not understand THIS IS TIGER WOODS YOUR TALKING ABOUT!!…and even more this is Tiger Woods at Augusta. If he is on property with 14 clubs and a golf ball we are not here talking about making a cut
— Rob McRae (@rbmcrae89) March 28, 2022
Tiger is a Pro and ultimately if he doesn’t think he can compete he won’t play. If you are the 🐐 you’re only going to play if you think you can win.

I hope I'm wrong but w that terrain and all, I am guessing he sits this one out. He only plays if he feels he can win. Maybe his priorities have changed.

Mostly, the fans thought that the golfer is ready to play in a big event like Masters.
Can’t see him winning, he plays to win, not make the cut, not make top 10s. Because of this, no way he plays, he’s not ready yet.

A difficult walk, very hilly, over four days (if he makes the cut) will likely be a big challenge. 🤞🏼
