Nick Vujicic once said, “It’s a lie to think you are not good enough. It’s a lie to think you are not worth anything.” The One-Arm Challenge between a then 6-year-old and the PGA Tour pros to raise awareness for a charity is a perfect example that everybody is worthy.

The video begins with the one-armed golfer Thomas ‘Tommy’  Morrissey showcasing his swings before the Tour pros. Meanwhile, his father, Joe Morrissey, explained what was going on in the middle of the 2016 Honda Classic.

Joe explained that his son and the Tour players would compete against each other to hit a 55-yard shot. The closest to the pin will win the challenge. He added, “Here’s the catch, the 6-year-old has one arm, and the Tour pros must also hit with one arm.”

The one-arm challenge

As soon as the then 6-year-old golf prodigy hit his ball, his face went all gloomy. He asked, “Can I have a mulligan?” After discussing among the golfers, Morrissey got to play another shot, which he thought was normal.

The next to hit the ball with his one hand was Mark Wilson. Soon after taking his shot, his face was redder than Tommy’s was. Not even the funny Peter Malnati could beat Morrissey in the challenge.

While the golfers were challenging each other, Joe Morrissey explained why his son and the Tour players were doing this. He explained Tommy’s Foundation’s mission is to raise awareness that anybody can do anything even with physical disabilities. The video further showed that Tommy has, in fact, played with none other than Tiger Woods.

Morrissey was born without the right arm. While most parents would be disappointed, Tommy’s parents never thought he was any different from other kids. Tommy’s obsession with golf started since his parents loved to play the sport.

The young Morrissey became famous after his appearance on the Ellen Show. Soon after, he became the ambassador of ‘UnLimbited,’ a Foundation to raise awareness and money to design limbs for the needy.
