Almost everyone sees Tiger Woods as one of the greatest golfers of all time. Woods will finally make his way into the Golf Hall of Fame on Wednesday this week. The entire golfing world is excited to witness this event. In his career, Woods has bagged 82 PGA Tours and 15 major championships so far. 

However, he is currently recovering from a horrific car crash and will hopefully make a comeback on the PGA Tour soon. Meanwhile, as we approach the iconic day, Tiger’s best buddy Fred Couples reflects on his first impression of the legendary golfer.

Fred Couples reflects on his first impression of Tiger Woods

Fred Couples and Tiger Woods are close friends. Tiger always likes to play practice rounds before an event with Fred Couples. Hence, they share a great bond and understanding with each other. 

“I played with him in 95 at Augusta in a practice round or two, and I played with him in the Philippines when he was an amateur. I’d seen him at Augusta. You know, I thought he was incredible,” revealed Fred Couples.

“To do what he’s done, I think he knew he was going to venture out here and win a lot of tournaments, a lot of majors.” However, Fred thought that the sky was the limit. Furthermore, Couples said Tiger is his all-time favorite person off the course. Moreover, on the course, he admires the way Woods strikes the golf ball.

He believes it was just a matter of time before Tiger Woods got into the Hall of Fame. Notably, Fred Couples is already in the Golf Hall of Fame. However, now he will have his buddy Tiger with him on this elite list as well.

They will telecast the World Golf Hall of Fame Induction 2022 live on Golf Channel on March 9 from 7 p.m. ET.  It’s going to be a special occasion for Tiger, as he will now become a Hall of Famer in golf.
