The 2022 Genesis Invitational is currently underway at the Riviera Country Club. Tiger Woods is the host of this event, and he is present at the venue. Moreover, there are plenty of prominent names in the field, like Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, Tony Finau, and others. We have had an enthralling two rounds of golf.
We all know Tony Finau is an NBA enthusiast and follows the sport keenly. Furthermore, the two-time PGA Tour winner is a huge Kobe Bryant fan, who unfortunately isn’t with us anymore. And Finau has been vocal about the impact Bryant has had on him as an athlete. He still pays tribute to the legendary NBA player, and that’s what he did recently at the 2022 Genesis Invitational.

Tony Finau honors Kobe Bryant at the 2022 Genesis Invitational
After a decent round one, Tony Finau arrived at the Riviera Country Club on Friday in the afternoon to play the second round. However, he surprised everyone by showing up at the event in style. Finau arrived at the Riviera Country Club with a custom-fit dress honoring the legendary NBA star Kobe Bryant.

This is not the first time Finau is honoring or paying tributes to Kobe. He has worn Kobe’s jersey on the 16th hole of the TPC Scottsdale at the 2020 WM Phoenix Open. This shows the love and respect Finau has for the late Kobe Bryant.

The young Joaquin Niemann leads the event with a score of -16. He has had two rounds of 63 and is looking in fairly pungent form. Cameron Young is just two strokes behind him as he shot an incredible 62 on Friday. While seasoned campaigners like Justin Thomas, Adam Scott, and Jordan Spieth are in the top 5.

However, Tony Finau has had a decent event so far as he managed to make the cut and currently is T44 with a score of -2. So he will be hoping for better performance in round three and to improve his ranking as much as possible.
