Finau began wearing green on Sundays as a tribute to his late mother, who was a pillar of support in his golfing journey. Vena Finau helped Tony accomplish his dream in every way possible, but she tragically passed away in a car accident in 2011 when she was only 47.
Tony was devastated by the loss and it crippled his golf game momentarily. However, he rose back up with a fighting spirit and decided to pursue greatness, keeping his late mother in his heart and thoughts all the time.
