Tiger Woods made his first-ever public appearance at the Hero World Challenge since the horrific solo car crash. He conducted a press conference and gave interviews to media houses. Moreover, Tiger will play a golf tournament for the first time this week at the PNC Championship. 

Additionally, during the recent Hero World Challenge, Woods gave an interview to Golf Digest. There, he answered a few interesting questions and also gave his views on Bryson’s performance at the World Long Drivers Championship.

Tiger Woods explains the gravity of Bryson DeChambeau’s performance at WLDC  

The reporter asked Tiger about his views on Bryson’s top 10 finish at the World Long Drivers Championship. “People have no idea how good that is,” said Tiger. “He is doing something historic. It’s just that one, even John Daly in his heyday could never have done what he’s doing right now. The swing speed and the commitment to it and adjustment to the equipment it’s unheard of.”

Meanwhile, Bryson DeChambeau became the first-ever PGA Tour golfer to compete in the World Long Drivers Championship. Even though this was his debut event, the 2020 U.S. Open Champion finished in 7th place, which is incredible. as Tiger said, adjusting to the equipment and other things isn’t a cakewalk.

Moreover, he competed in this event immediately after the Ryder Cup triumph. Hence, Tiger believes this is an incredible achievement, and he is mighty impressed with the kind of work ethic that Bryson has. 

John Daly was the longest driver of the golf ball in his prime. He used to bomb 300 yards drive off the tee, which was a huge thing back in the days. But still, Woods feels Daly would have never done anything like Bryson.

Woods’ Next Tournament

Tiger will play a golf tournament for the first time post his accident this week at the PNC Championship.

PNC Championship is a casual event where father-son/father-daughter team up and compete. Hence, Tiger will be playing with Charlie Woods, his 12-year-old son. But most probably, Tiger will just chip in with his wedges and putt while Charlie will tee-off with his driver.
