Tiger Woods is one of the main reasons golf is a popular sport in the world today. Many people considered it to be a slow and uninteresting sport with no athletic abilities required. However, when Tiger Woods made his way on the PGA Tour, he changed this perception with his incredible athletic abilities and unfathomable skills. 

He was always ahead of time, not only in terms of his gameplay but also in fitness. Tiger attracted eyeballs with some insane golfing skills combined with athletic abilities.

Tiger Woods shares his fitness routine during offseason

Woods was way ahead of everyone from the golfing world for emphasizing fitness and strength. And he recounted the legendary workout routine he followed in the offseason during his initial years on the PGA Tour.

“Well, I used to get up in the morning, run four miles,” Woods said.

“Then I’d go to the gym, do my lift. Then I’d hit balls for two to three hours. I’d go play, come back, work on my short game. I’d go run another four more miles, and then if anyone wanted to play basketball or tennis, I would go play basketball or tennis. That was a daily routine. I’m not doing any of that now.”

Back in the day, there was no specific workout routine for golfers. But Tiger was always ahead of time, and he knew how the sport is going to evolve and hence, Woods always emphasized fitness and having a set workout routine.

However, he couldn’t follow this routine consistently throughout his career. As with increasing age and constant battles with injuries, Tiger had to alter his fitness routine. Moreover, in 2018, he confessed that he wasn’t doing any of this extreme routine now, mainly because of the injuries. But he has a specific workout routine designed for him in the gym, which helps him a lot.

So, like in many aspects of golf, even in fitness, Tiger Woods had a vision about the evolution of the game and was working accordingly. Hence, fans consider Tiger as the greatest player in the history of this sport.
