Collin Morikawa finished in second place at the 2022 Genesis Invitational. The golfer was at his absolute best as he scored a 17-under par. However, as it turned out, if not for Justin Thomas, he wouldn’t have had a chance to finish the tournament. Or, that’s what Thomas thinks!

In what can be called an honest mistake, Morikawa walked into the tee box without paying attention. To his surprise, another golfer was taking a shot in the tee box; none other than Justin Thomas.

Thomas seemed ready to take the tee shot in the video when he heard somebody saying, “whoa.” Thankfully, the golfer looked up and saw that Morikawa was walking straight into the tee box without paying much attention. However, as soon as Collin realized his mistake, he moved away and went straight into the tent with a guilty-looking smile.

Justin Thomas responded to the apology from Collin Morikawa!

As soon as Morikawa saw the video on the PGA Tour’s page, he quickly retweeted with an apology “sort of” caption. 

The golfer said, “🤦🏻my bad @JustinThomas34.”

Thomas, displaying his famed fun nature on the course, responded to Collin’s apology with a funny tweet. He said, “I knew I should’ve just hit you…taken one of the competition out!”

Following the incident, Morikawa climbed the leaderboard without looking back. He finished second after the final round with a score of 17-under, just two behind the winner. As for Thomas, he finished in 6th place with a 13-under.

Notably, Joaquin Niemann won the tournament with a score of 19-under.

The relationship between the two golfers

Justin and Collin share a wonderful relationship both on and off the course. Recently, the duo has been receiving a lot of attention through their online interactions. As Justin is not the most tech-savvy, Collin helped him learn a thing or two after he made a mistake on one of his Instagram posts.

Not to mention, they both share the same opinion on the Saudi League as well, as they have decided to stay with the PGA Tour.
