How would Rory McIlroy play golf if he was Tiger Woods?

Rory McIlroy recently appeared on the No Laying Up podcast and spoke his heart out. While explaining how the human mind sometimes doesn’t allow a player to play freely. “I’ve seen it like in Tiger one major championship, not hitting driver anywhere. And that’s the left side of his brain basically going no, that’s not what you do. You had an iron under the fairway and iron under the green. And you just keep doing that over and over again.”

Moreover, he said if there is anyone in the game who shouldn’t care about the result, then it is Tiger Woods, as he has already proved his greatness. “But even he gets on golf courses, and I’m sure at the top of the swing says oh, don’t miss it there or don’t miss it. You know, it’s just human nature,” said McIlroy.

However, Rory said if he was Tiger, he would hit a driver on every hole. “I have always said if I was Tiger Woods, I will hit a driver everywhere. I either shoot 60 or 80 and not care,” said McIlroy jokingly. Hence, Rory said he wouldn’t care how his scorecard looked at the end of the day, as Tiger has already got the GOAT title.
