The PGA Tour is moving ahead with its schedule after the grand conclusion of the Wells Fargo Championship. Next up is the AT&T Byron Nelson, a prestigious tournament that has been around for many years. The field is set, and here are the top picks expected to win the event this year: 

Before we dive in, it is essential to know that the AT&T Byron Nelson will be played at TPC Craig Ranch this year. While the event hasn’t moved away from Texas, it will be played at this new venue for the next five years. 

There are several notable names that make up the 156-man field for the AT&T Byron Nelson this year. Among them was World No. 1 Dustin Johnson, but he pulled out of participating due to a knee issue.

Top five picks to win 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson

There was no AT&T Byron Nelson in 2020 due to the pandemic. The event was canceled, which means that 2019 champion Sung Kang will put his title on the line this year. The field looks star-studded this year, with quite a few Dallas boys looking to steal the show. 

Here are the top five picks to win at TPC Craig Ranch this year:

5. Scottie Scheffler: Scheffler has been in good touch lately and the Dallas native has prior experience of playing at TPC Craig Ranch. He leads the tour in total driving distance this season and has two top 10 finishes in his last five starts.

4. Marc Leishman: The Aussie is an early contender at this event owing to the dynamics of the course. Leishman has been clinical with his striking of late and will compete at the AT&T Byron Nelson has won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans earlier.

3. Bryson DeChambeau: The Texas courses require tremendous ball-striking from the golfers, and who better to do it than Bryson DeChambeau? He has improved his game after a few disappointing finishes and is expected to pose a strong challenge at TPC Craig Ranch.

2. Jon Rahm: Rahm always goes down as an early pick. He’s simply unavoidable because he’s been so consistent on the PGA Tour. Rahm has nine top 10 finishes in 14 starts this season and has a complete game under his belt.

1. Jordan Spieth: Spieth returned to winning ways at RBC Heritage this year and he is poised to win the second title of the season at TPC Craig Ranch. This is the tournament where Spieth made his tour debut as a 16-year-old and would be keen this year to pick up his first AT&T Byron Nelson title.
