At the 2022 American Express Golf Tournament, Patrick Cantlay broke the record of the longest streaks of rounds in the 60s. Golf Channel posted this on their Instagram.

Patrick Cantlay holds the 4th position in the Official World Golf Rankings. He ranks after Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, and Dustin Johnson on the OWGR list.

Notably, Cantlay hasn’t won a single major championship. He became the 4th after winning the FedEx Cup Championship in 2021; The same year, he won the Jack Nicklaus PGA Tour Player of the Year.

The 29-year-old joined the Korn Ferry Tour in 2012 and PGA Tour in 2014. Cantlay was part of Team USA at the 2019 Presidents Cup, 2020 Ryder Cup, 2011 Walker Cup, and 2011 Palmer Cup. 

Patrick Cantlay broke the record set by Victor Hovland!

Patrick started the streak last year from the second round at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational event. From there, he continued the streak throughout the FedEx events and at the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

Cantlay made the record in the second round at the American Express Golf Tournament. He is currently in the top three golfers with a score of 13-under. 

It was Victor Hovland’s record of 19 rounds of the 60s that Patrick broke at the American Express Golf Tournament. Hovland broke the record of Bob Estes with his 19 consecutive rounds as a rookie in 2019.

Interestingly, Bob Estes, who held the record until Hovland broke it, held the record of 17 consecutive rounds at the 60s for 18 long years. He joined the PGA Tour in 1989 and has won four Tour events in his career. Notably, he was also a FedEx St. Jude Classic champion.

Other than Cantlay, Hovland, and Estes, Tony Finau and Charles Howell II are among the top five golfers who had the longest streak. The PGA Tour started recording the longest streak from 1983.
