Jordan Spieth had an incredible performance at the recent 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He finished solo second for the event with a score of -17. However, the winner of the day, Tom Hodge, maintained his lead and carded -19 to lift the trophy.
Notably, Jordan’s one shot on the 8th hole at the Pebble Beach Golf Links stole the show. He played a shot from the edge of a 90ft cliff, and the moment went viral on social media. Feared what his family would say witnessing him pull off such dangerous stunts on the course, here’s how he explained it to them.

Jordan Spieth reveals his family’s reaction to his cliff shot
After finishing runner-up at the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Jordan Spieth gave a post-round interview. Moreover, when a reporter asked him how did he explain the cliff shot to his family, he said, “It was fine.” However, Jordan later revealed that his wife, Annie, even though relieved, said he doesn’t need to do perform such stunts as it’s just golf.

“They were just asking questions about it because it was maybe hard to tell how stable it was.” Additionally, Spieth asked them where they were while he was playing this shot. “And they were like, my mom and Annie couldn’t watch, and my dad was just like, what’s going on?”

However, it is worth noting that Jordan isn’t proud of his actions. “I think looking back, I just never had a situation where it was like a life and death scenario on the golf course. So I think it was just kind of weird in that setting. But I don’t expect to have any more of those anytime soon.”
Meanwhile, Jordan Spieth carded -3 on the final day and remained two short of the lead. He scored five birdies but at the same time had two bogeys which dropped his score. However, looking at his game, Spieth is knocking on the doors of victory, and hopefully, it will open for him soon this season.
