It was not a tournament of ecstasy for Spaniard Jon Rahm. He entered the 2021 Masters a bit later than others, but it was all due to a life-changing event. Rahm was never in contention at Augusta this year, but he came incredibly close to matching a major Tiger Woods record!
Rahm finished -6, with an aggregate of 282. This marked the Spaniard’s second-highest aggregate total in his Masters career, but the 26-year-old yet again achieved a Top 10 finish.
After being tied for fifth at the end of the final round, Jon Rahm achieved his fourth consecutive Top 10 finish at Augusta. It was indeed an impressive finish by the five-time PGA Tour winner, and he would be happy with the result as well.

While all this is good, what Jon Rahm did through four rounds at Augusta National is truly remarkable. His consistency was so good that he is incredibly close to matching a legendary Tiger Woods record at the Masters!
As he headed into the Augusta National last Tuesday, Jon Rahm knew that he had a very slim chance of winning the 2021 Masters. However, nothing goes down without an attempt, and Rahm employed that mindset at his fifth Masters appearance.

Jon Rahm displayed tremendous consistency at the 2021 Masters
Rahm shot 72-72-72-66 in four rounds at the 2021 Masters. Three rounds of even-par and a final round 6-under 66 skyrocketed Rahm to fifth place on the leaderboard. Rahm finished the tournament tied for fifth place, his fourth-best career finish at Augusta.
However, it should be noted that Rahm completed all his rounds at a score of even-par or lesser. What’s astonishing is that Jon Rahm has never finished a round with a score over-par since the 2018 Masters. The Spaniard is on a 15 round streak where he’s made even par or lesser at Augusta.

The last time Jon Rahm made a score above par at the Masters was at the first round in 2018. His scoring average since then ranks at 63.33 and only Tiger Woods has a better streak of most consecutive rounds at even-par or lesser at the Masters with 16 such rounds.
Tiger Woods finished 16 consecutive rounds from 2007 to 2011 where he never made a score above par at the Masters. Right now Jon Rahm is second behind Woods with 15 such rounds.

So, if Jon Rahm completes his first round at the 2022 Masters with a score of par or lesser, he’d be tied with Tiger Woods for the longest such streak. However, the Spaniard needs two consecutive scores of par or lesser at the Masters to go clear of Woods!
