The 2021 Memorial Tournament got off to a bright start but was soon hindered by rains lashing out in Dublin, Ohio. Round 1 was successfully completed after a slight delay, and the golfers already found the course playing differently than it did last year. Here’s how the leaderboard stands ahead of Round 2:
24-year-old Collin Morikawa knows his way around the Muirfield Village Golf Club as he won 2020 Workday Charity Open that was held at this venue. Morikawa played his way to seven birdies on a testing layout and shot a 6-under 66 that earned him leaderboard honors.

Morikawa was part of a featured group on Thursday, and his playing partners were defending champion Jon Rahm and Xander Schauffele. Rahm stands T7 with 3-under after Round 1 while Schauffele is T3 after shooting a 4-under 68.
