Lahiri won $2,180,000 at the TPC Sawgrass this week. He won the amount after scoring an overall of 12-under 276 from four rounds at the tournament. He was just one shot behind Cameron Smith, who won the Championship title with a 13-under.

The PLAYERS Championship is one of the most rewarding PGA events as they offer the purse money of a massive $20 million. As per the rules, all the golfers who would complete the four rounds would receive their share of the purse money. And the money is distributed according to the PGA Tour’s prize money distribution chart.

The winner of the tournament gets extra benefits along with the money, including direct qualification at the 2022 Masters and the PGA Championship. Therefore, Cameron Smith received his share of purse money, $3,600,000, along with some benefits from the Tour. Meanwhile, Lahiri, the second prize winner, and the others only received the money.

Anirban Lahiri shared his thoughts about his achievement at the PLAYERS.

“I wanted a win. I’ve been here seven years,” said Lahiri at the press meet after the PLAYERS.

Even though the Indian golfer was disappointed over his loss, he was happy with his form at the tournament. “I was just happy. I was in a really good frame of mind,” Lahiri added. “Just stuck to my processes and routines, and I have done a really good job.”
