Woods and Thomas are both South Florida residents and stay in Jupiter Island. The duo share an admirable bond, and Woods was intensely focused on Thomas’ performance at The 2021 Players.
“I had some texts from him. I got to FaceTime, talk with him a little bit after because I knew he wanted to chat and catch up and I knew he was going home the following day,” Thomas informed in a press conference before the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.

Tiger Woods had pointed to Justin Thomas after his win
Here’s a version of Tiger Woods we all know! As Thomas rallied to a breathtaking win at TPC Sawgrass a week ago, Woods couldn’t help but ponder over what could’ve gone wrong.
The 18th hole at TPC Sawgrass is a challenging one as it flirts with the water hazard all along. Thomas attempted a daring stroke and reaped the benefit, but it could’ve turned into a disaster.
Woods gasped his breath watching it from the hospital and later chipped in his expertise about the shot to Thomas. While the ball had landed on the fairway, Woods was confident that it wasn’t an ideal shot from his compatriot.
“We’re just talking like we always do but he told me that I toed my tee shot on 18 which I didn’t. I hit it right in the middle. I just overturned it a little bit, but he’s adamant that I toed it. But I made sure to remind him that I didn’t it was right where I needed to be,” Thomas mentioned about Woods.
