The 2022 PLAYERS Championship got delayed multiple times due to extreme weather conditions. While the golfers were getting frustrated by the wind meddling with their shots, the World No. 1 Jon Rahm was in the midst of creating history at the TPC Sawgrass.

However, the record did not make the current World No. 1 proud, but it did make him think about his form.

Rahm made a quintuple-bogey 9 at the tricky par-4 of the TPC Sawgrass, which is the highest score the golfer has ever scored on a single hole. While it is a record, it is not something the golfer could be proud of.

After the fourth round ended, Rahm tied up with four other golfers at the T55 with an overall score of +2. The result and his performance not only stunned the golfer but the fans as well. Since he is the current World No. 1, people had a lot of expectations from the Spanish golfer.

Fans’ reaction to the quintuple bogeys of Jon Rahm

The golfer had done the unexpected and left the fans in surprise. And they couldn’t help themselves but mock the golfer for the unfortunate result.

Since he scored a quintuple bogey at the tournament, some fans asked him to give up his world no. 1 position. One of them wrote“Surely he has to voluntarily concede his world no1 spot after this.”

There were some fans who pointed out that the ‘PGA Tour Communications Twitter’ page is mocking the golfer by putting out this news as a post. One of them even wrote, “Why embarrass him like that?” Meanwhile, another golf fan wrote:

The results of Rahm may have gone bad. However, not everybody had the same experience as the Spanish golfer.
