Phoenix Open is widely known for the interaction between the audience and the golfer at the 16th hole. The celebrations of fans go wild if the golfers hit perfect shots. The photos of beer bottles at the Open are circulating all over the internet. Hence, the golf world, including Paige Spiranac, reacted to the situation through Twitter.

Sam Ryder shot a hole-in-one at the Phoenix on the 12th of February. The fans went crazy as hundreds of beer bottles were thrown onto the course to celebrate the moment. Although it was a moment to enjoy, the authorities had to pause the play to clean the golf course.
The golf world reacts to the beer-bottle shower!
The photos of the beer bottles at the TPC Scottsdale are circulating all over the internet. The volunteers and workers at the golf course had to remove the bottles to continue the tournament. Stephen Cox, a PGA Tour official, took Twitter to acknowledge this situation. He posted,
25 years in professional golf I’ve had a delay in play for situations related to weather, a gas leak, fire, medical emergency but never for excess beer cans 🍻 That’s me above the red line trying clean up the mess. Wild scenes @WMPhoenixOpen pic.twitter.com/z1zIZeIohN

The posts of them clearly indicated they were not happy with the situation. However, the fans didn’t agree with them. A writer at Golf Digest wrote: “Sure. It changes the perception of golf. People see this and think “wow, maybe golf isn’t so stuffy and elitist. Maybe it can be fun.” As such, they’re more likely to want to pick up the game or go to a tournament. Really not that complicated.”

A different approach by Paige Spiranac to attract attention to the situation
Paige Spiranac is a very active social media influencer. She is officially retired from pro golf. However, she always tries to entertain her audience with her witty remarks on every sports news. As always, Paige took a different way to address the ‘beer bottle problem’.

Charley Hoffman is an American professional golfer. Recently, he had been getting media attention for throwing shades at the PGA Tour. He accused the organization of making penalty rules that make no sense. Moreover, he added that this nature of PGA makes the golfers go to different leagues. Since Paige mentioned Hoffman in the post, it became funny.

Celebration is one thing. However, there are some consequences to it. Although it was nothing big, the event had to be stopped to clean the premises.
