Dustin Johnson is one of the most prominent golfers on the PGA Tour. He has 24 PGA Tours and two major championship wins in his career so far. Meanwhile, DJ is probably one of the most athletic golfers currently on the PGA Tour. He was even World No.1 for quite a few months before Jon Rahm took over last year. 

Notably, Dustin doesn’t look like those typical old golfers who mostly rely on hand-eye coordination. He has strength and athleticism, which is becoming a crucial requirement in golf these days. However, Dustin Johnson himself credits the legend, Tiger Woods, for this change

Dustin Johnson thanks Tiger Woods

Golf has become an athletic sport, and it is no longer a hand-eye coordination-based sport. But the credit for this change has to go to Tiger Woods, believes Dustin Johnson“We can thank Tiger for that because I think he made golf become cool,” said DJ.

“For me, I grew up playing. I played other sports too growing up, but I’ve always just loved playing golf, and now you see it, even with all these young guys. Golfers are athletes. All these guys coming out, they’re taller and stronger. Everybody’s going to the gym.”

Furthermore, Dustin revealed that he goes to the gym six days a week to “stay feeling young.” Additionally, this helps him keep up with the young guys on the PGA Tour.

Meanwhile, Dustin Johnson is currently going through a rough patch as he hasn’t won an event on the PGA Tour since the 2020 Masters. But his last professional win came at the Saudi International in 2021. Additionally, he will be competing in the same event this week from February 3rd, 2022.

Surely, he will be hopeful of producing a similar result and will get back on the winning track soon.
