Dustin Johnson has put an end to all the speculations regarding his future. He has committed to the PGA Tour and has clarified that he will not be joining the Saudi-backed league. DJ was one of the most prominent names from the tour, who was said to be joining the rival league. 

Johnson has now made a statement on this issue and cleared his stance on the same. Hence, another big name has backed the PGA Tour and will continue to perform here. On Sunday, DJ published his stance via PGA Tour. So let us have a look at it.

Dustin Johnson backs PGA Tour amid rumors of joining the Saudi backed league

Dustin Johnson has been playing at the Saudi International for around four years. And there were a few speculations that he would be joining the rival league. However, DJ has chosen loyalty over money and has backed the PGA Tour.

“Over the past several months, there has been a great deal of speculation about an alternative tour. Much of which seems to have included me and my future in professional golf. I feel it is now time to put such speculation to rest. I am fully committed to the PGA Tour,” revealed Dustin.

Furthermore, he thanked the PGA Tour for giving him an opportunity to compete on the best tour in the world. However, DJ admitted that there are a few areas where Tour can still improve. “While there will always be areas where our tour can improve and evolve, I am thankful for our leadership and the many sponsors who make the PGA Tour golf’s premier tour.”

The former world no.1 also revealed that the Saudi-backed league had made him an offer while he was competing at the Saudi International. But Johnson has chosen loyalty over the lucrative offer and has joined players like Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, Rory McIlroy, and Jordan Spieth, who have made their stance clear on this issue.
