Bryson DeChambeau won’t be hitting bombs this week! The defending champion of the Arnold Palmer Invitational has recently shared the shocking news of his withdrawal with his fans through his social media.

“Man, it’s a tough decision right now,” said Bryson, who looked disappointed as he made the revelation in a video on Twitter. Since he is still recovering from injuries, Bryson explained it would be hard for him to play the event. Notably, the Arnold Palmer Invitational begins on Thursday this week.

Bryson informed his fans that he doesn’t want to play unless he is 100% ready. He said, “Right now, like 90%, I just don’t wanna go out there and hurt myself even more, and not be 100 % ready for the rest of the season.” Although it was a hard decision for him to make, he had to choose his health over passion this time.
Furthermore, Bryson thanked the Palmer family for supporting him and his professional career.

“At this current point in time, I am gonna take another week off, and I’m gonna try and play for The Players,” said Bryson. Sadly, the Mad Scientist wouldn’t be at the API this weekend to defend his title. However, the happy news is that he will be back at The Players Championship, which begins on the 10th of March.

Since the beginning of the year, Bryson has had multiple injuries. Notably, other than the Sentry Tournament of Champions, Bryson hasn’t seen a final round in a tournament this season. He withdrew from Sony Open, citing a wrist injury, and from the Saudi International, citing hand and hip injuries.

Since the news of his injuries spread, speculations about the same have been on the rise. According to most of the spectators, the injuries happened because of Bryson’s speed training and power hitting.
However, Bryson revealed the true reason behind his injuries through his social media. DeChambeau explained that he slipped and fell before the Saudi International, which caused him his injuries.
