Further, last year, Genesis Invitational TGR Foundation celebrated an incredible milestone of reaching two million kids. Moreover, Woods started the Earl Woods Scholar program after his dad passed away in 2006.
Earl Woods Scholarship program, what is it?
The Earl Woods Scholarship program has assisted kids throughout their professional journey. Notably, they started this program in 2006 after his Tiger Woods‘ dad Earl Woods passed away. In this scholarship, there are high-achieving school students who require financial help.
In this scholarship, every student gets a personal mentor who guides them with the college process. Furthermore, mostly the Earl Woods scholars are first-generation college students, and they even have around 98% graduation rate.

This year as fans return to the Genesis Invitational, there are Earl Woods scholars at Riviera Country Club as the honorary starters. And one such scholar is James Green. The TGR Foundation helped him through the Earl Woods Scholarship program.

“I’m more grateful than ever to have been a part of this program,” said Green. “I stumbled upon this incredible network, and I’ve been riding the wave since, and it really makes me want to be a mentor to kids. I just want kids who have been in rough environments to succeed so much. To know that there are people out there who want to help.” Furthermore, he concluded by saying that he is short of words to explain how this program has changed his life.
