Who are the honorary starters for the 2022 Masters?
Every year the prestigious Masters gets underway after the honorary starters for the event tee off on the first tee. For the 86th Masters, chairman Ridley revealed the names of the honorary starters. Tom Watson, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player will be the honorary starters who will tee off and get things going.

Notably, last year they had Lee Elder along with Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. However, sadly, Lee Elder passed away about a couple of months ago. Hence, this year, along with Jack and Gary, the organizers have selected another legendary golfer, Tom Watson.
Tom has won the green jacket twice in his career and will be the honorary starter for the first time in his life. Last year’s champion, Hideki Matsuyama, will look to defend his title following his historic win. Not to forget, he will also be the host for this year’s champions dinner at Augusta.

Meanwhile, the other honorary starters, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, have also dominated on this iconic course. The Golden Bear, aka Nicklaus, has won the Masters event six times in his career, which is the most in the history of the game, while South African Gary legend, Gary Player has won the green jacket thrice.
