Rory McIlroy is one of the most prominent golfers on the PGA Tour. He has 20 PGA Tour wins and has bagged four major wins in his career so far. However, he is looking to complete his career grand slam by winning the Masters. But sadly, Rory has got a disappointing finish every time.

Meanwhile, we all know Rory is a good friend of Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan. Additionally, he even plays golf with MJ regularly when he is home. However, McIlroy has said that he always struggles while hanging out with players like Tiger and Jordan. And recently, he revealed the reason for the same. So let us have a look at it. 

Why does Rory McIlroy struggle hanging out with Tiger or Michael Jordan?

Golf recently published an interview of Rory McIlroy where he said that it becomes difficult for him to be with Tiger Woods. “It’s this thing where I grew up watching this guy as my hero, and I sort of think like you don’t want to be friends with me,” said Rory.

Furthermore, he said it’s the same thing with Michael Jordan as well. “It’s the same thing when I play golf with Michael Jordan, which I do probably once a week at home, and I’m always thinking about these are people I never imagined I’d be hanging out with. And so it’s hard to put them in a category. Are they friends? Who are they? I struggle with that,” revealed McIlroy.

Hence, the Irishman isn’t a close acquaintance of Tiger Woods as Justin Thomas. Moreover, Rory is the kind of guy who doesn’t like to talk too much. So he hasn’t really been close to Tiger or MJ even though they know him very well.

McIlroy recently finished 3rd at the Dubai Desert Classic and was leading the event for a while. But once again, in a final couple of holes, he messed up his game and lost the lead.
