Undoubtedly, Tiger Woods is one of the greatest golfers of all time. He has bagged 82 PGA Tours and 15 major championships in his career so far. However, his most famous win recently has to be the 2019 Masters. Why? Well, Tiger wasn’t the favorite to win the event since he was making a comeback from an injury. But with odds against him, a win is exactly what he took home.

Unlike others, Jack Nicklaus didn’t doubt Tiger and trusted in his ability. In fact, he even said that Woods was possessed after he won the historic 2019 Masters at Augusta National.

Why did Jack Nicklaus say Tiger Woods was possessed?

Jack Nicklaus is one of the best players in the game and he has 18 major championships to show for. During the 2019 Masters final round, Nicklaus was bonefishing in the Bahamas. However, when he managed to watch the event, he saw that the top four of the last five players had found water on the 12th hole. But Tiger was the only one who found the green.

At that moment, he knew that Tiger was going to get the green jacket and win his 15th major championship. “You just watch it all day long, and you say, ‘This is a man who is possessed. He’s possessed to win a golf tournament,'” Nicklaus said.

“He’s absolutely under total control, and he’s going to get it done. And he did,” he added.

Tiger went into the final day with a score of -11 and was T2 on the leaderboard. He was two strokes behind Francesco Molinari. But as four of the top five players on the leaderboard found water on 12th, it gave Tiger an excellent chance of taking the lead. And that’s exactly what he did.

Not to forget, he had just made his comeback from an injury, and hence, the expectations weren’t high. But Woods kept his cool and made sure that he finishes the event at the top. In what was the most epic comeback, Woods won his 15th major championship; his first-ever major win after 2008.
