The never-ending line outside the TPC Scottsdale reminds us why the tournament is called the People’s Open.
The importance of the 16th hole at the Phoenix Open
The WM Phoenix Open is the most attended event in PGA Tour’s history. Due to the covid restrictions, not many were allowed at the event last year. However, this year, the event is back in all its glory. But why do people love the Open more than any other event?
The structure of the TPC Scottsdale golf course and stadium is what makes the event more interesting for the audience. According to the officials, the stadium at the 16th hole can accommodate more than 16,000 people. Usually, the fans have to stand to watch their favorites play; however, here, the people can take a seat and enjoy the Open at comfort.
Since there is a sea of people in attendance, the reaction to each shot is equally emphatic. And if a golfer couldn’t make it to the green, the audience will make their disappointment evident.
Fans react to the long line of people waiting for the tournament
The most important comment from the post belongs to the PGA Tour itself as they updated what happened an hour later at the stadium.

In the video, the crowd can be seen seated and waiting for the tournament to begin, while having a party of their own. The funny thing is that the PGA Tour even mentioned that the event will only begin five hours later.
