Every year, the PGA Tour hosts the QBE Shootout, a non OWGR event on the schedule. Unlike most events on the tour, this shootout is a team event. It carries on for a few days, only two players (one team) winning in the end. While the event is held in December, the field is announced over a month before.

This time, a few players will return to the event, which has undergone many name changes over the years. It was first played in 1989 and was known as the RMCC Invitational. Let’s take a look at the field this year, which was recently announced by the event on their social media accounts.

Who all will be playing the QBE Shootout this year?

As two players compete as a team during the event, QBE Shootout announced the field in two parts. We can only assume and wonder about the teams, which will compete against each other in December for the prize purse that was over $3 million last year. A total of 24 people play, which means there are 12 teams of two. Defending champions Harris English and Matt Kuchar will play as a team, while the top 12 players who are available from the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup points list through the Tour Championship are included.

Ten of the players who participate are special exemptions for the tournament.

The course itself is designed by Greg Norman, a combination of various bunkers. A highlight will be the 27,000 square feet clubhouse, which provides fine dining and a private locker room for members along with lounge areas. The course also has a member-only Fitness and Health Club, with massage rooms, steam rooms, and more.
