Bubba Watson has moved up on the leaderboard at the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic. The left-hander was seen wearing Michael Jordan’s old shoes in the third round and is currently T25 with a score of -8.
It surprised many people that he is wearing vintage Michael Jordan shoes. And it looks like it has proved to be a lucky shoe as he scored seven birdies and two bogeys and remained five-under for the day and -8 for the tournament.

Bubba is also a brand ambassador of ‘Jordan Brand’ and usually wears Jordan shoes during major events. But the shoes he wore on Saturday are not for sale to the public.
In the post-round press conference, Bubba told the media about the shoes and said: “I know MJ pretty well, and we wear the same size, so I get a lot of his old shoes.”
ESPN reporter Tom VanHaaren tweeted about the shoes and mentioned that Bubba Watson is wearing some Jordan golf shoes that “aren’t for sale to the public.” VanHaaren revealed NBA icon Michael Jordan and Bubba Watson share the same shoe size.

Bubba Watson made a brilliant comeback in round three and shot five-under-par. Previously in round two, he shot one-over-par for the day and looked like he would struggle even if he makes the cut.
“I just putted good, rolled the ball nice. Again, you could figure out the clubs a lot easier because there wasn’t that much wind, and that’s, usually what happens,” he said.
Bubba also praised the fans at the Detroit Golf Club. “Yesterday they kept cheering for me and pulling for me to make a birdie so I could make the cut. I’ve never made a cut here, so it was nice to make the cut,” he said.

Currently, Bubba is six strokes behind the lead, and he would need another extraordinary round to lift the trophy. Watson will tee off with Curtis Thompson and will look to make the most of his chances before playing the British Open, the oldest golf major.
