The regular PGA Tour season has ended, and the FedExCup playoffs are all set to begin. The playoff consists of three events, and the top 125 players from the FedExCup rankings will qualify for the playoffs. Moreover, the first event is the Northern Trust, then the BMW Championship with the top 70, and finally the Tour Championship with the top 30 players from FedExCup rankings.

Meanwhile, the 2021 Northern Trust is all set to begin on August 19th. The Liberty National Golf Club, New Jersey, is all set to host the event for the second time in two years. Yes, Northern Trust is the only FedExCup playoff event that has a cut line after 36-holes. Additionally, only the top 65-golfers and ties will make it to the weekend in this event. Moreover, only the top 70 golfers, according to the FedExCup rankings after the Northern Trust, will make a move into the next playoff, The BMW Championship.

Furthermore, only the top 30 after the BMW Championship will go into the final Tour Championship. However, it is interesting to note that there is no cut line in the BMW Championship and Tour Championship. Hence, the Northern Trust remains the only FedExCup playoff event that has a cut line after two rounds or 36 holes.

Meanwhile, defending champion Dustin Johnson took the event by storm last year. He scored eleven birdies on the first eleven holes but sadly ended up with pars on the remaining holes. But Dustin scored -30 for the event and won the event with an unfathomable margin of 11 strokes.

However, this time around, with a venue change, it will not be an easy task for DJ or any other player since the Liberty National Golf Club is a decent golf course, unlike the TPC Boston.
