All the fans are waiting for the tournament to start with 156 players on the field this year. The previous year they reduced the field to 144 players given the change in dates and reduced daylight in September. 45-year-old Woods is still recovering from the injuries he sustained during his single-car crash in February and won’t be a part of the field in 2021.

The course for US Open has always been intimidating for players, with this year being no exception. The Torrey Pines Golf Course at San Diego, California, is one of the toughest courses to play. The strong winds and undulating greens make it challenging for the players, and add to that, this time, the rough on each hole is diabolic. The rough is hard and thick and looks daunting for the players.

The primary thing for a player here is to avoid these roughs as much as possible. So, this course might suit the players who are good with their tee and approach shots. And that’s why players like Jon Rahm, Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa, and Brooks Koepka are a few names who are favorites for this week.
