Petronas Sprinta Racing’s Adam Norrodin has a Disappointing End to Home Race in Malaysian GP

Petronas Sprinta Racing’s Moto 2 rider Adam Norrodin had a disappointing end to his home race as he failed to finish his race in the Malaysian GP.

The rider crashed out of the 18-lap race on Sunday, but was fortunate enough to escape uninjured.

Talking about his disappointing finish, Norrodin said: “I’m really disappointed because I gave everything in my home GP and it didn’t work out. I knew it was going to be tough in the race, and I saw so many crashes in front of me. I tried to find a little bit extra in every corner, but turn four was really tricky and I lost the front. Nothing I tried this weekend seemed to help me, so now we need to go away and figure out exactly how to improve for the next time out. It’s all part of my learning process, and even though my home race didn’t go the way we wanted it to we’ll take the positives from the weekend to Valencia.”

Norrodin’s Team Director Johan Stigefelt was also unhappy about mot finishing the race,

but was relieved that the rider was safe in the end.

“It wasn’t easy for Adam this weekend and from the start of practice until the race, we could never really make any big steps forward,” Stingefelt said. “We wanted to be more competitive at Sepang but it never really happened because he never got the feeling he wanted from the bike. He improved his lap time, but not as much as we hoped for, and in the race he crashed. The most important thing is that he’s OK, and we’re already focusing on Valencia and the next race.”

The 2019 Moto2 season is coming to an end and will conclude with track action getting underway on 14th November and race day on Sunday 17th November at the Gran Premio de la Comunitat Valenciana.
