A great run by Leicester towards the end of the season defused the tension created by possible relegation. It was a roller coaster of a campaign for the 51 year-old, who seemed to crack under the pressure of managing at the top flight on more than one occasion. The team remained at  the bottom for weeks, and the odds were stacked incredibly against Pearson, but he turned it around for both himself and the team.

It is understood that his relations with the owners was stretched beyond measure, mainly due to his laid back nature. King Power Stadium supported the man and it is shocking news for the fans, who anticipated that Pearson would usher in consistency and glory in due course.
