Paul Pogba has grabbed the attention of football fans worldwide by paying a classy tribute to Leo Messi after his France side ousted Argentina from the World Cup yesterday.
The Manchester United midfielder was impeccable in their 4-3 win over La Albiceleste. He dominated the midfield alongside N’Golo Kante and successfully contained the mercurial Messi as well. Goals from Antoine Griezmann, Benjamin Pavard and a brace from Kylian Mbappe was enough to set up a quarter-final date with Uruguay.
On the other hand, the Barcelona superstar barely got a look-in but his side to come back despite conceding the first goal. However, Mbappe ran riot and punished the hapless Argentine defense who could do nothing but stand and watch. Messi had his hand in 2 of Argentina’s goals, but it was not enough to get them over the line.

Understandably, the 31-year old was visibly distraught after the loss. Fans and pundits have even questioned whether he will continue to play for the national side but that is a question for the future. After the game, Pogba came by and wrapped his hands around the diminutive genius who was overcome by the gesture.
