Zero WNBA games. That’s what Caitlin Clark took to become the talk of the town. Even before she was drafted into the WNBA, Clark was discussed as a vital player who could challenge others when stepping onto the big stage. And now that she has, everyone is singing praises of her. Every day there’s some new controversy surrounding her. Her fiasco with the Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter was barely over when the sports analyst Pat McAfee spoke some words that didn’t go down well with the WNBA world.

McAfee was present during his show ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ when he praised Clark but called her a “white b*tch.” And his words had the entire balling world boiling, especially USA Today’s writer Meghan Hall.

“But I will like the media people that continue to say – this rookie class, this rookie class, this rookie class. Nah! Just call it for what it is. There’s one white b**ch for the Indiana team who is a superstar,” McAfee continued.

Hall slammed McAfee and called out the other people in the room who didn’t stop McAfee from continuing his talk. She was extremely disappointed at the use of such language for one of the best players. “Not a single man in that room told Pat McAfee, who openly called Caitlin Clark a “white b****” on national television, that he was wrong – that he shouldn’t speak about Caitlin or any woman like that. What is EVEN happening? We’re cool with that…all for him to prove a point?” Hall vented out her fury on X.

However, the words of McAfee didn’t sit well with the fans who had various reactions to it.

Fans divided over Pat McAfee’s statements

Fans seemed to be divided over McAfee’s statements. One fan came forward on X and remarked “No backbone”. Most probably he was referring to other panelists on the show who didn’t say anything to McAfee.

Another fan took to the social media platform X and clarified that “He was standing up for her.” The user was overtly stating the fact that McAfee didn’t mean to demean Clark instead he was hyping her up throughout the conversation.

One sure sided with Hall and went as far as saying that the panelists including McAfee didn’t deserve daughters. “I said the exact same thing!!! Very disturbing!!! Hope they don’t have daughters!” The netizen completely seemed to agree with Hall and felt that what McAfee did was not right.

“It’s called the PMS show for a reason.,” 0ne fan commented. The follower was calling out ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ for using the PMS initials and being insensitive to women.

Now that the internet is divided, it remains to be seen what steps will McAfee take next. And if he will apologize to Clark or justify his statement with the context. What do you feel? Is Hall right? Let us know in the comments below.
