The Parisian sensation is optimistic about emerging victorious in the final round after a commanding stint against Gibraltar. Mbappe believes France has the versatile roaster to secure their third European Championship in 2024. Moreover, the Monaco starlet was also vocal about their mindset for the campaign next season. The France captain is more determined to win the title rather than merely participating in the fixtures. The former world champions are committed to maintaining their peak performance and forging a formidable squad for their opponents in Euro 2024.

The PSG icon remarked in the interview, “Since I arrived, I always said I want to win. There are great teams but you will never hear me say as long as I am going to wear this jersey. You will never hear that I am going anything other than winning. Participating is not my thing. If we don’t win, we will accept, but we‘re going to win of course.”

Moreover, the upcoming Euro would be a redemption for their previous 2020 campaign. France failed to advance in the knockout stages after falling short against Switzerland. The 2018 World Cup champions were defeated in a penalty shoot-out in the round of 16 tie. Nevertheless, France appears to be prepared for the upcoming championship following their impressive results in the qualifier stage. Now, let’s dig deep into their performance from the qualifier campaign.

France smashes records in the Euro qualifiers

France maintained an impressive seven-match winning streak securing 21 points to lead Group B. Mbappe’s side allowed just one goal in the entire campaign while scoring 27 goals. They have an impressive 90% passing accuracy on average. The French stars have proven to be a nightmare of the rivals in the defensive third, registering 56 shots on target along with an average possession of 60% in most games.

Furthermore, France surpassed Germany’s 13-0 win over San Marino in 2006. It was the largest victory in any international game until Deschamps’ men nailed 14 goals against Gibraltar in the qualifier fixtures. Marcus Thuram, Zaire-Emery, Jonathan Clauss, Kingsley Coman, and Youssouf Fofana found the back of the net during the first half of the game. Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe overtook Greizman to become France’s third-highest scorer in history with 46 goals, trailing only by Thiery Henry and Olivier Giroud, thanks to his trick in the game.
