Stoke City flop Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting beat four Toulouse defenders to score a superb individual goal for Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.

Choupo-Moting rewarded Thomas Tuchel’s faith in him in the second half when he opened the scoring in style.

The Cameroon forward picked up the ball inside the box and turned to find himself faced against four Toulouse defenders.

But Choupo-Moting used his quick feet to skip past the players with ease before smashing a powerful shot that bounced off the post and past Baptiste Reynet.

The French champions doubled their lead courtesy of a Mathieu Goncalves own goal, with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting netting PSG’s third and his second of the match.

PSG completed their 4-0 thrashing of Toulouse when Marquinhos’ bullet header found the back of the net in the 83rd minute.

Tuchel was without the services of Neymar Jr, who has been linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona this summer.

The PSG boss admitted ahead of the match that the Brazilian superstar was ready to play, but uncertainty around his future in the French capital made him a doubt for the Toulouse clash.

PSG have started their title defence with two wins and one loss, which came in a shock 2-1 defeat to Rennes last Sunday.

Unfortunately, it was not all good news for the Ligue 1 giants, as a couple of star players did not walk away unscathed. Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani were injured as Paris Saint-Germain comfortably defeated Toulouse 4-0 at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Thomas Tuchel lost striker Cavani 14 minutes into a goalless first half, with Choupo-Moting being subbed in. Although the Cameroonian delivered handsomely, the match against Toulouse was a bitter-sweet affair.

To be precise, the result was completely overshadowed as Kylian Mbappe appeared to pull his hamstring when chasing down a pass, with the France forward heading straight off the pitch before Choupo-Moting and Marquinhos added further goals.

PSG, beaten 2-1 at Rennes last week, quickly cranked into gear and Toulouse goalkeeper Baptiste Reynet made a pair of smart saves from Mbappe in the opening four minutes.

But its strong start faded fast and PSG was dealt a blow when Tuchel saw Cavani hobble off after an attempted volley, with Choupo-Moting introduced as his replacement.

Choupo-Moting was acrobatically denied by Reynet in the first minute after the restart but the keeper could do nothing about the Cameroon international’s next effort.

After collecting the ball in a packed penalty box, Choupo-Moting superbly span into space and thumped a low drive in off the left post.

PSG’s second goal came five minutes later, Pablo Sarabia’s attempt deflecting in off Goncalves, who then gave away a 71st-minute penalty for handball after Mbappe pulled up on his 100th Ligue 1 appearance.

Reynet dived to his right to deny Angel Di Maria from the spot, but PSG added a third goal four minutes later as a sweeping move ended with Juan Bernat teeing up Choupo-Moting for a first-time finish.

Choupo-Moting was denied a hat-trick by Reynet before Marquinhos’ header completed the scoring on his 250th appearance for the club, but PSG will be hoping for good news on Cavani and Mbappe.
