Kei Nishikori On Recovery

While the ongoing pandemic has affected a lot of people negatively, it actually worked in favor of Kei Nishikori. In a recent talk, he opened up on how the pandemic allowed him to recover well as he did not feel pressured to return to the tennis court. His fans will definitely be happy about that.

Kei also spoke about what he is doing during this time. He said that he is trying to stay positive and happy during this pandemic and that he has picked up a new hobby – cooking and baking cakes. Just like everyone else, he is also trying to keep himself entertained during this dire time.

While the Japanese star will be cooking and baking, that is not the only thing he will be doing. Now that he has fully recovered, he will also be training and training hard. He wants to be at his absolute best to do something he has never done before – win a Grand Slam.

He did come close to winning one way back in 2014 when he reached the final of the US Open. Sadly, he lost in straight sets to Marin Cilic. He will definitely want to finally do it and, in the process, become the first Asian man to win a Grand Slam singles’ title.

Since the ATP Tour is only going to return in August, Kei has plenty of time to prepare and make sure he is at his best. Hopefully, he will finally achieve his goal of becoming a Grand Slam champion.
