Indian badminton rising star P V Sindhu started off her Olympic year with her second Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold title. After having an impressive undefeated PBL(Premier Badminton League) season, Sindhu continued her good form and went on to grab the title. Sindhu defeated 22-year-old, 2014 CWG silver medalist  Gilmour from Scotland in straight sets 21-15 21-9.

With this final win she became the first woman to win this title twice. Progressing through the draw, she defeated some of the big names, Lindaweni Fanetri in the quarterfinals, a player she has failed to notch a victory against previously. She also defeated the top seed and world number 6 Sung Ji Hyun  in the semis in a hard fought three game thriller (21-19 12-21 21-10). A performance like this surely boosts her chances of playing in the Olympics. She next features in the Syed Modi India Open Grand Prix Gold event, which will be  played in Lucknow, India .

We all hope that this is the launch pad for better performances to come.
