Overwatch 2 was one of the unique FPS titles out there when it launched. The game can be considered a predecessor to the currently popular tactical FPS title Valorant. Unfortunately, it soon lost its popularity, despite being a quite successful eSport FPS title for a long time.
Many argue that Overwatch 2 lost its community majorly because it could not do well midst all the competition from free-to-play FPS games. However, Blizzard is all set to redeem the game, with the first major update to the game in quite a while.
Blizzard was happy to reveal this at the online Blizzcon, where it also revealed details about the upcoming Diablo 2 remake.

The most notable of all the announcements regarding Overwatch 2 is the one about the two new maps: New York and Rome. Rome will be one of the maps available during Push Mode, a new gameplay mode.
The Overwatch iteration of Rome presents a more romanticized version of the place. It features the Colosseum and the grand hills on the backdrop. New York, on the other hand, is quite closer to the original location in terms of design. It features pizza places and small shops that are reminiscent of the Village.
In addition to this, Blizzard has made major changes to the PvP gameplay. Devs have attempted to change the combat mechanics, to a level that the gameplay will feel quite different. Furthermore, devs have also added passive attributes to various classes.
