The highly anticipated moment is almost upon us! After months of waiting, Ally Batenhorst will finally make her professional debut with the Omaha Supernovas tomorrow. The reigning Pro Volleyball Federation champs will begin their 2025 campaign by taking on Atlanta Vibe at the CHI Health Center, and the NCAA sensation will be the one to look for.

With over 1,000 career kills, Ally Batenhorst is easily one of the most prolific collegiate volleyball stars ever. During her time at both Nebraska and USC, Ally has proved to be someone her squad can rely on. An outside hitter herself, she still believes hers isn’t the toughest job in the team. Instead, Batenhorst has the utmost respect for the players who play in a different position.

On January 9, Hurrdat Sports shared on Instagram how Batenhorst is keeping herself in light spirits ahead of her big pro debut. During the conversation, the former Huskers star also revealed what she thought was the most challenging position to play as a volleyball athlete. On being asked what she thinks is the toughest responsibility on the court, she said, “Setter, definitely.” Highlighting how this position requires athletes to execute a lot of decision-making and be precise while at it, the 2024 AVCA All-American nominee acknowledged, “It’s definitely a challenging position.

With that, Ally Batenhorst also revealed who was her role model growing up and wanting to pursue her volleyball passion. She cited Olympic gold medalist and former Nebraska star Jordan Larson as the person she looks up to. Like Batenhorst, Larson is also an accomplished volleyball celebrity who boasts a total of four Olympic medals to her name. Jordan now plays as an OH for LOVB Omaha in League One Volleyball.

The 22-year-old further shared tidbits about how she’s keeping her mind at ease before the rumble begins by revealing her activities on social media. She said that random dog videos and basketball clips, along with volleyball TikToks, are what’s helping to keep things lucid. Considering how the pro scene in the USA has been growing in recent times, it’s understandable that the pressure is also mounting. But given how experienced Batenhorst is, she shouldn’t be much worried.

Furthermore, she will also have familiar faces around her to help overcome the quivering feelings in her stomach. At the Supernovas camp, she will reunite with her former teammate from Lincoln, Lindsay Krause. More emphatic NCAA stars including Kendra Wait (Creighton), Mac Podraza (Penn State), and Kaitlyn Hord (Nebraska) will also help Batenhorst overcome the apprehensive feelings she had about leaving California and return to the freezing cold of Nebraska.
