“Buchecha” has been stellar in ONE Championship since his debut in 2021. He has defeated all four of his opponents in the opening round, and his seamless transition from grappling to MMA is a testament to his determination to succeed in his quest to conquer the sport.Despite his run of early victories, the 33-year-old star is well-equipped to go the distance if needed. He went all the way to the end countless times across his 100+ victories in BJJ–in bouts that ranged from 10-minute IBJJF black belt contests to 20-minute or more battles in ADCC competition.

Heading into his upcoming bout, Almeida wants to showcase his all-around skill set, and he doesn’t care if he has to fight to the final bell to do it. “My weapon for this fight, as in all other fights, is that I like to get in the cage and show that I’m not just a jiu-jitsu fighter, but an MMA fighter,” he told ONE.“I’ll be prepared for 15 minutes of fighting if necessary.”Against “Reug Reug,” Almeida will face a heavy-handed opponent who is proficient on the ground.
