Originally scheduled to be a contest for the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship, their bout will now be contested at a 140-pound catchweight after Superlek missed weight. The highly-anticipated clash between the two Thai striking superstars will take place inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and many fans are stumped as to who will leave as the victor. Ahead of their match, Superlek discussed “The Iron Man’s” strengths with ONE, but he also made it clear that he is confident he will find a way to beat him.

In fact, the flyweight kickboxing king even predicted he might force his rival to do something he’s never done before. “Rodtang has a lot of his strengths. He is tough and aggressive. I tried to study him for his weaknesses, but I can’t find any yet. I think he will have a few, but I can’t tell you right now. Let’s find out in the ring,” Superlek said, “I saw some comments on social media saying that Rodtang has more advantages because he is a heavy hitter, and we will fight in small [4-ounce] gloves, but for me, we have a 50-50 chance to get the knockout or get knocked out. And I still believe that my punches are not weaker than his,” he continued.

“On this day, fans might see me walking toward Rodtang instead, and you might see Rodtang going backward for the first time.” Rodtang has gained global recognition for his penchant for brushing off clean shots and sending them right back at his opponents. The 26-year-old remains unbeaten through 14 striking contests in the world’s largest martial arts organization, and he looks to continue his dominance in his next outing.

However, Superlek believes that no amount of toughness is unbreakable, especially at the right point of weakness. Additionally, he thinks that as tough as his compatriot is, people may not realize that he is just as durable, given that he’s never been finished in the ring.

“Even if your chin is hard as iron, if you are attacked at a vulnerable point, you can be knocked down. It depends on how much toughness and guts he has,” he said. “I have never been knocked out before either. Let’s see how hard he can hit me and if I can take it.”
