The Malaysian athlete knows that her upcoming rival’s striking has been the backbone of her incredible success in the all-encompassing sport since she shifted her focus to it in 2020.
Jihin Radzuan sees whole’s in Stamp Fairtex’s game
But, in an exclusive interview with ONE, Jihin made it clear that she believes Stamp’s dependence on her stand-up game could leave her exposed when their match gets underway inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Much as it did in her recent ONE Atomweight World Title loss to divisional queen “Unstoppable” Angela Lee.
“Remember when I told that Stamp’s striking could be one of her biggest downfalls against Lee? I think I got it spot on. She got stuttered, and it was weird to see her just stay there. I was like, ‘Go, get her. You folded her in half, what are you waiting for?’ Those single shots are powerful, but if there’s no follow-up, it’s pointless,” she said.
“I’m not saying she doesn’t have combinations. But maybe she should show it more.”

Another aspect that the Ultimate MMA Academy upstart broke down from the top-ranked atomweight contender’s fight with “Unstoppable” at ONE X this past March was her inability to play to her opponent’s pace.
Jihin Radzuan feels confident ahead of ONE on Prime Video 2
Stamp seemed to struggle to cope with Lee’s fluidity when both women advanced into the pocket, and Jihin thinks this is a further gap in her skillset.
“Her other biggest downfall is that she can’t really take on an opponent who seems to be more active than her,” the Johor Bahru native added.
“She likes to play it her style. I can see that she gets thrown off if her opponent slows it down.”
“Shadow Cat” will be looking to capitalize on the holes she thinks her rival has when they square off at the U.S. primetime event this Friday.

However, she plans to do so cautiously, as she will still be mindful of Stamp’s ability to outstrike her in the pivotal atomweight fight.

“I wouldn’t call [her striking] overrated, because it can allow her to strike with some of us in the atomweight division. It isn’t right up there, but it’s good. One thing I can say about her striking is that it’s fast. Her hands, her kicks, and elbows can come at you quick,” she warned.
