Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has showcased his love for the sport of MMA multiple times. Last year, he also had been to the UFC Vegas 61 event and rumors said that he had rented out the whole UFC apex for it. Recently, the Instagram boss used his own platform once more to wish good luck to the no.1 UFC pound-for-pound fighter, Alexander Volkanovski, ahead of his UFC 284 mega-fight.
Zuckerberg’s post contained a video showcasing himself having a spar with ‘Volk’, but not for training purposes. The all-new stuff displayed in Zuckerberg’s video garnered humongous attention from the viewers. Notably, a lot of famed MMA world personalities, including the $350M worth ONE Championship boss, Chatri Sityodtong, commented on Zuckerberg’s post.

Zuckerberg described the purpose of this casual spar between the Meta CEO and the UFC Featherweight king, Alexander Volkanovski, in the caption of his post. It read, “Last year @ufc #1 pound-for-pound fighter @alexvolkanovski stopped by Meta HQ to train with me and for fun we tested the limits of our performance avatars with motion capture in our @engage gear. Most in the comments section wrote about how they were impressed by the awesome video of ‘Zuck’s’ and ‘Volk’s’ avatars fighting in the virtual world. The avatars moved exactly how the duo was moving in reality.
But, The ONE Championship boss, chose to exhibit a different viewpoint. He was more interested in how Zuckerberg displayed commendable fighting skills despite being only a casual practitioner of MMA.
Sityodtong commented, “looking sharp, mark!”. It was evident that he was a bit taken aback by what he witnessed.
Zuckerberg offered Sityodtong to visit him sometime
The 38-year-old also replied to the ONE Championship head honcho’s comment. ‘Zuck’ penned, “@yodchatri Thanks! Would love to have you visit Meta HQ sometime”. The mutual respect and admiration between the two was evident in the conversation.
Sityodtong also affirmed Zuckerberg’s invitation stating, “definitely, mark! i love everything meta is doing! let’s train together too when i am there!”. It’s pertinent to note that Sityodtong also appreciated Zuckerberg’s recent professional ventures.
Whether the fans will get to see a spar between Sityodtong and Zuckerberg is currently unclear. But, if it happens, then Sityodtong will expectedly be more interested to witness ‘Zuck’s’ skills. While Zuckerberg will probably be more invested in checking out the efficiency of his ‘avatars’.
