ONE Championship has consistently provided a stage for martial artists to showcase their talents, and the organization’s Chairman and CEO, Chatri Sityodtong, has left the door open for one of the most influential people on the planet today to compete under its banner at some point in the future.

In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Sityodtong made it clear that META chief Mark Zuckerberg would be more than welcome to step into action in ONE.

Over the past few months, there were rumblings on social media of a billionaire superfight between Zuckerberg and fellow tech entrepreneur Elon Musk. The pair expressed a desire to test each other’s skills on the mats, and that lit up the internet, with professional fighters even offering their services to help them train. The META founder previously posted videos of him working with ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Champion Mikey Musumeci, and the two developed a friendly relationship from their time on the mats.

Meanwhile, Musk also hinted that he was preparing for the potential blockbuster match. Ultimately, though, the fight was far from set. Zuckerberg eventually shot down the idea after the Tesla CEO’s proclamations that he would challenge the fight him in his own backyard, saying he wouldn’t face anyone who randomly showed up to his house. While we may not ever see Zuckerberg and Musk mix it up, Sityodtong said that he believes the Facebook creator is a legitimate threat, and he’d welcome him to compete in the world’s largest martial arts organization, like his friend Musumeci does, if he chose to.

“I know Mikey and Zuck are good friends and have trained together,” he said. “I’ve invited him [Zuckerberg]. He hasn’t accepted, but he hasn’t said no yet, either. He said he’d think about competing in ONE as well, so who knows what can happen down the road?” “Mark is a real martial artist. He loves ONE. He also loves UFC.”

The idea isn’t too crazy considering Zuckerberg’s history with the sports

Musumeci is known for his obsessive desire to improve his craft, which is something that people have said Zuckerberg shares with him. So training with ‘Darth Rigatoni’ will only have helped the 39-year-old improve his grappling skills.

He has already shown proficiency in the sport, having won in his debut tournament in California earlier this year. If he gains more confidence, it wouldn’t be crazy to believe he could showcase his talents in ONE in the future.
