Thai megastar and reigning ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon will be paying close attention to the main event showdown between Superlek “The Kicking Machine” Kiatmoo9 and “Samingpri” Tagir Khalilov at ONE Fight Night 12 on Prime Video.

Slated to air live in North American primetime this Friday from the world-renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, that flyweight Muay Thai bout pits two of the sport’s most skilled and dangerous fighters against each other in a high-stakes battle. Rodtang recently broke down the headlining attraction in an interview with ONE Championship.

Rodtang Jitmuangnon gave a blueprint of what Superlek needs to do for a win

According to “The Iron Man,” Superlek – who currently holds flyweight kickboxing gold and is the flyweight Muay Thai division’s #1-ranked contender – should avoid a reckless brawl with Khalilov if he wants to avoid the Russian’s ruthless punching power.

“If Superlek doesn’t try to trade with him too much, he will win this match. But on the other hand, if he decides to press forward and trade with him directly, both of them will equally have a chance to KO the other or get knocked out. It depends on who makes a mistake first.”

Unsurprisingly, Rodtang is picking his fellow Thai. Because even though “Samingpri” possesses some of the division’s most feared boxing and has finished highly regarded Thai stars in his last two fights, he believes that Superlek is simply more skilled with more ways to win.

“Superlek can be knocked out by Tagir’s punch. Or Tagir can be knocked out by Superlek’s high kick, elbow, or his counter punch because Superlek has better defense than Tagir. And of course, I’m rooting for my Thai compatriot. I’ll go for Superlek.”

Rodtang Jitmuangnon predicted this coveted bout to end with one going to the canvas

That dynamic, he says, promises to produce fireworks and gives fans plenty of reason to tune in this Friday. However it plays out, the flyweight Muay Thai kingpin is sure of one thing – someone is getting knocked out. “If I have to predict, there is a high percentage that this fight will be finished by KO. It depends on who would get that shot first.”

“Both fighters are dangerous. Superlek has a deadly high kick, elbow, and counter techniques. I’m sure that we can expect a knockout in this match. So, our fans shouldn’t miss it. It’s going to be a barnburner.”
