Italian standout Antonio Mammarella will soon step into the Circle for the first time in what is undeniably the biggest fight of his life.

This Friday, June 7, at ONE 167: Tawanchai vs. Nattawut II on Prime Video, the 24-year-old will square off with fellow ONE newcomer Adrian Lee in an intriguing lightweight MMA showdown.

Set to air live in U.S. primetime from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, that bout represents a clash between two of MMA’s most promising young talents.

Lee is the younger brother to current two-division ONE MMA World Champion Christian, former atomweight MMA queen Angela Lee, and the late ONE superstar Victoria Lee. Given his family of famous fighters, it’s no small surprise that Lee’s professional debut at ONE 167 has garnered plenty of attention.

Mammarella, though, is a dangerous athlete in his own right. Like Lee, he’s been training in MMA since childhood but boasts a more extensive amateur background as well as a professional fight (and win) to his resume.

The Italian explained why that single pro bout will make a significant difference on fight night, “Turning professional is a very hard step to make. You need to be ready mentally more than technically.

“I think an important aspect is not only having a pro fight but also being a pro fighter for more time than Lee. And with that, I mean living, training, and thinking like a professional fighter.”

Ultimately, Mammarella understands the massive opportunity before him. If he’s able to get past the highly-touted Lee, he will have stolen his foe’s spotlight and will be hailed as the next big thing at lightweight.
