He said, “My momentum [heading into this fight] is three wins with three finishes. I’m looking to extend this streak and I promise you the best is yet to come.”

It comes after a series of setbacks where he lost both his middleweight and light heavyweight titles to Reinier de Ridder in 2020–2021. Determined to capitalize on his momentum, Aung La N Sang revealed the emotional significance of his current goal in a recent interview with The All-Star. “The belt is why I still fight,” he declared.“But a lot of things can happen, you know. Because of that, my eyes are only on September 6. I don’t care about anything past that or before that.”
