Roman Kryklia has been a dominant force throughout his tenure in ONE. The Ukrainian powerhouse is undefeated in five bouts and has finished four of his opponents. Further, he has claimed both the ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Title and the ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix strap.

In the main event of ONE Fight Night 17, he’ll look to add more hardware to his collection by becoming the first-ever ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai World Champion. He faces a tough test in Alex Roberts to do so, however.

‘The Viking’ enters ONE riding the momentum of his most significant win to date. Recently, he claimed the WBC Heavyweight Muay Thai World Championship this past October. Despite being a newcomer to the promotion, the Aussie giant will have experience on his side against Kryklia, who is a kickboxer by trade.

Will Roberts’ advantage be enough to help him put an L on the Gridin’ Gym representative’s record? Or will the light heavyweight kickboxing king continue his incredible run? All will be revealed on Friday night.

A Pivotal Featherweight Battle

Luke Lessei will join arguably the most stacked division in all of combat sports today when he steps onto the ONE stage this weekend. Moreover, he could shake it up significantly if he is successful. ‘The Chef’ is set to face the #4-ranked featherweight Muay Thai contender ‘Smokin’ Jo Nattawut. After dominating the amateur ranks, the American standout has amassed a perfect 5-0 professional record. Now, he plans to extend it when he arrives in ONE.

Of course, that’ll be easier said than done against his next opponent. ‘Smokin’ has over 80 bouts under his belt and has gone toe-to-toe with some of ONE’s best strikers. After absorbing back-to-back losses, he will be hungry to get back in the winner’s column by giving Lessei a rude welcome. Therefore, fans should expect fireworks with this one.

ONE’s First All-Muay Thai Card

Known for showcasing multiple martial arts disciplines at its events, ONE Championship takes a bold approach on Friday night. It mounts an all-Muay Thai card live on U.S. primetime.

The promotion proudly claims to have the best striking roster on the planet. Further, there’ll be no better way to prove it than to showcase its deep talent pool with a striking-only lineup.
