After stringing together three successive victories against top contenders, Ham “Hamzzang” Seo Hee has been awarded a shot at the ONE Atomweight World Title, something she’s been longing for since inking a deal with ONE Championship.

The experienced South Korean star kept Itsuki “Android 18” Hirata busy for the duration of their atomweight contest at ONE Fight Night 8: Superlek vs. Williams on Prime Video last Friday, March 24.

Ham prevented Hirata from piecing together anything significant on the canvas and attacked from bell to bell with her boxing combinations. After three rounds, she pulled away on the judges’ scorecards with a well-deserved unanimous decision win.

Ham Seo Hee was elated by her win

Following the triumph, which pushed her slate to an impressive 26-8, ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong confirmed her next step at the Singapore-based promotion.

Speaking on the World Title opportunity from Sityodtong, Ham said:

“I was very happy. I got chills when I heard directly from Mr. Chatri Sityodtong. It’s the only thing I’ve wanted since joining this organization, and I’m very excited.”

While the Team Mad representative isn’t sure whether she would challenge reigning divisional queen “Unstoppable” Angela Lee or a shot at the interim belt, Ham will come prepared.

Stamp Fairtex is next in line?

At the moment, with Lee being away, a battle against #1-ranked contender Stamp Fairtex seems like the most plausible fight to make.

Stamp went down to “Unstoppable” at ONE X in March last year, and is highly motivated to add a ‘three-sport World Champion’ title to her resume.

She bounced back with a victory over Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan months later to secure her spot as the top-ranked contender in the packed atomweight division.

Whether or not Ham’s opportunity comes against Stamp remains to be seen, though.

Either way, this opportunity represents a dream come true for the South Korean athlete. And after claiming a slew of titles across Asia, she has her sights on gaining the biggest prize in MMA.
